Duties Description The duties of this position include: public outreach and coordination with constituents; communication with various interested parties concerning fisheries issues; provide information on fishing opportunity; assist with aquatic resource education programs; create event fliers, write summaries, answer phones, send out mailings; assist with freshwater fisheries management program in Region 1; assist with fish population and fish habitat investigations; conduct angler surveys; and assisting with invasive species management projects.
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in environmental education programs; or one year of college study with specialization in natural science, natural resources, or environmental education.
Preferred:
A strong interest in freshwater and saltwater fishing Comfortable in and around water.
Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/2025. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date.
Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
Must have a valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.
Must be able to work in remote areas.
Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Travel may be required.
Weekends and holidays may be required.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
